Winter Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......................... That is what winters are like here now. Cold, cold, cold. And once the snow hits, this country seems to grind to a standstill. This has certainly been the case for the last 2 years. What will this winter bring us???? |
| December A cold month now with the chance of early snows these days. Certainly the past two years have brought the white stuff to our doors.
Turquoise used to be the traditional birthstone for this month and was said to bring love, happiness and luck. Tanzanite is also an accepted offering for December. Discovered in Tanzania back in 1967, the reserves were quite small and it said that they are running out already, perhaps only another 10/15 years of mining left in this small 5km strip of land at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. A pretty stone, a pleochroic stone, meaning it appears one colour form one direction but when turned in the light a flash of different shades and colours spring into life. |
| January A fresh new year is ahead of us now, and what pleasures await us in 2012? |
| February Perhaps the hint of lighter evenings? Maybe a new bud begins to show. |
